Prue + Jordan’s wedding was a while ago now but I’m a little behind with blogging, and I thought this one was too good to forget about. A magical day in the magical setting of Maitraya earlier this year – it was all about love, family and friends. And I don’t think you can ask for a better focus for a wedding day.   Prue’s bridesmaids, all THREE of them, are her sisters which was very special.  Thanks, Prue, for telling us a bit about your wedding below.

  • How did you & Jordan to meet?

We met through a mutual friend in Albany. We were friends for a year before finally getting together.

  • Describe the lead-up and planning of your wedding.

This was one of the best parts! We were both heavily involved in the planning and tried to make the day more personal by making a lot of the decorations. The location, food and photography were the most important things for us so we put a lot of thought into these decisions. Our family and friends helped along the way and having everyone involved made the day that much more special.

  • What was it about Krysta’s photos that made you book her for your wedding?

We knew Krysta through her work with my aunty and loved her style and knack for capturing those personal moments that are easily missed. It meant so much more that she was already a friend of the family and we were delighted when she was able to photograph our day.

  • Where did you get married & why?

Both of us are originally from Albany and we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Family and friends are so important to us and we wanted our wedding to be a celebration of our two families coming together. Maitraya gave us a place where all our family and bridal party could stay for a weekend to celebrate our marriage. The stunning and private location was also perfect for what we wanted.

  • Tell us about any special touches?

The date we picked for our wedding is also the anniversary of Prue’s grandparents wedding and we were so lucky that everything fell into place to allow us to have our dream day on such a special day.

  • Which was your favourite photo & why?

Too many to chose just one! We love the photo of us walking along the verandah just after the ceremony sharing a kiss. We were so happy and its such a beautiful natural moment that she captured for us. The other favourite is us near the lake sharing another kiss of course, its such beautiful photo.

  • What song did you choose for your ‘First Dance” and why?

James Morrison, You Make it Real for Me – It was hard to find a song that showed how we love each other and what we give to each other. This song comes close to explaining how we balance each other.

  • Did everything go to plan on the day?

I cannot believe how perfect the day really was! It was such a relaxed day full of laughter and love. No dramas or problems and everything went smoothly and was so much better than we could have expected!

  • What was your most memorable moment?

Again, there are too many to chose just one. Everyone commented that they haven’t see a groom with a bigger smile on his face than Jordan, and I think that his smile when I walked down the aisle is one of the best memories I have of the day.

  • Tell us about your honeymoon

We haven’t had a honeymoon as yet but are busy planning a trip to Japan in January.

  • Do you have any advice for other brides-to-be?

Everyone says your day flies by so quickly, We were able to enjoy every moment of our day by planning time to relax with our bridal party, away from other guests, in between the ceremony and photos, an after the photos and reception. It allowed us to absorb the events of the day and refresh.
