Many of my couples are originally from Albany but are now living in various places throughout the State (and further beyond). But the lure of Albany for their wedding location is to be expected – after all, where is there a more scenic place on this earth. Kellie + Jeff chose Princess Royal Sailing Club for their reception venue with it’s vistas stretching back towards the City, and the Convoy Lookout located at the summit of Mount Adelaide. It doesn’t get more “Albany” that that for this couple who live in our State’s North.
I asked Kellie to share some more information about her wedding day::
Describe how you met & tell us about your proposal.
Jeff and I actually met in high school. Getting married was a next step thing for us, so no romantic proposal for us.
Did you chose a particular theme or style and if so, why?
We didn’t really have a theme I just wanted it to be elegant with pinks for colours.
Did your chosen location have any specific significance?
We LOVE Albany as it is home for us both. We choose Convoy Lookout for its spectacular views and its central location.
Tell us about any special touches/mentions/family traditions at your wedding.
Our wedding was very much a DIY all bouquets and table centre pieces were made by myself.
I think the most memorable and emotional moment was saying our vowls and the giving of rings.
Which was your favourite photo & why?
There were so many beautiful photos, one of my favourite was the ring exchange photo
What one wedding planning tip would you give other brides/couples?
Spend money on the best photographer you can afford, the day goes so fast and photos are all that’s left after the wedding. Get someone to film the vowls and speeches they are lovely to watch later.
Any other special comments about your wedding you’d like to add?
We loved every moment of our wedding and it was deffiently a day worth waiting for.
