Earlier this year, Julie and Greg were married at the Old Farm Strawberry Hill and celebrated afterwards at their picturesque property outside of Albany under a beautifully styled “backyard” complete with a marquee and a local band for entertainment. Julie admits that she indulging in pretty details and getting to choose little things that filled out the whole feel of the day. And it showed – the reception looked amazing!
One of Julie’s greatest wishes for her wedding day was that she and Greg had some quiet moments just to themselves during the day.
This was music to my ears as I love to shoot “first looks”, which is when the bride and groom get to see each other before anyone else on their wedding day. It’s always a very emotional time and it guarantees me the chance to capture heart-felt moments of the couple before the craziness of a wedding day kicks in. We headed to the Old Convict Goal for absolute privacy behind those prison walls.
Another favourite moment for me was when each of Julie’s three big boys took turns to walk their gorgeous mum part of the way down the isle to her husband-to-be. Sniff… yep, I teared up along with most of the guests.
