Sneak Peek; Scott + Jasmine, Denmark… {wedding}

What a fantastic wedding for me to end my 2012-13 wedding season with – going out with a bang!

Jasmine + Scott didn’t let the dodgy soggy weather in Denmark on Saturday spoil their fun – a few quick venue change decisions made and we were back on track. Greens Pool became “Salt and Pepper Restaurant” – a decision I was thrilled with!

Oooo I love being in on a secret. Today I attended Vicki + Grant’s engagement party that was actually their wedding!

Not only that, but Vicki + Grant chose to have a “reveal” beforehand (when the bride + groom see each other, before anyone else does, all dressed up for their wedding day, on their own – its very intimate!). I LOVE to shoot reveals so this was my perfect wedding! Here’s a sneak peek…

The lovely thing about having regular clients is the pleasure of seeing babies grow into little people … like Meg who I first photographed three years ago. And look at her now! Here’s a sneak peek from this morning’s sunrise shoot.

Laura + Bryn, Cheynes Beach… {wedding}

As the 2012-13 wedding season reaches the last few months here in the Great Southern, I am ashamed to see just how far behind I’ve gotten with my blogging! I still have two of my favourites from 2011-12 to share with you – one from Broome, and this one – Laura + Bryn’s MAGIC day at Cheynes.

And I don’t use the word MAGIC lightly. This May wedding really did call on some fairytale spell because, for the week leading up to it, it was raining BIG TIME! There was so much water at the beach-side location that pumps were actually brought in to remove it so that the marquee would be erected on lawn rather than over a lake.

And yet as you’ll see from the photos, “out came the sunshine and dried up all the rain…”! And out came the whales too!

Wedding location
Cheynes Beach, its a big part of the Westerberg’s lives (the Groom’s family) and so has been a place where Bryn and I have spent a lot of time together. And its Beautiful.

Theme or Style and why?
Slightly ocean themed for obvious reasons.

Bride’s Dress/Jewellery/Shoes/Accessories?
My dress is from Hobnob Bridal. Shoes were a random purchase and my earrings were borrowed from my Aunty Mary. The brooch in my hair was once my great Aunt Alice’s, who came from England (she was a very special influence for my mum).

Hair and Makeup?
Hair was done by Kate from MU. We did makeup ourselves.

Florist?
We did all the flowers and bouquets ourselves too.

Your Celebrant?
Maggie Dent. She is an amazing woman and inspiration as well as a very very close family friend.

Special Touches?
The wishing well we had was made from the old copper boiling pot where Bryn’s Pop used to dye all the fishing nets.

Did everything go to plan?
Perfectly

Memorable moment?
The whales coming to say hello at the very start of the day when we weren’t even getting ready yet.

Favourite photo and why?
Us under the big pine tree looking at the ocean, because we just got married! that pine tree was planted there by Bryn’s Great Granny.

The party / reception?
Best dance party ever! Both our families are mad for dancing so it was a blast!
