Bianca + Stefan were married at Camp Quaranup which is on the other side of the harbour from the city of Albany. Its a pretty unique location with striking views back to the City. It was originally built by the Commonwealth Government in 1875 as a quarantine station, but in more recent years, it has been used as a recreation camp, so makes for a fabulous wedding location as guest often spend the night at the Camp, too.
Below is the story of Bianca + Stefan’s wedding day at Quaranup told using Bianca’s words and my photos (with help from my brother Ben Reynolds).
My Dress was from Hob Nob in Perth – my mum & bridesmaids said my face lit up when I tried this dress on so I knew it was the one. The bridesmaid dresses were from Soul Sisters in Fremantle. My something borrowed was a pearl ring from a friend, something old was my Nana’s wedding band & my shoes were bought on-line from Suna.
Hair and Makeup?
Our hair was done by Black cats & makeup by Miriam Bane
We chose Quaranup because of the amazing view overlooking the ocean, it was a beautiful backdrop for our ceremony. We also loved Quaranup because our guests didn’t have to travel between ceremony & reception. While we were off having our photos, our guests could enjoy a drink & some nibbles.
I love lilies so I went to the lily farm on lower Denmark road, I picked the flowers I liked & then had a couple of friends do the bouquets for me.
We had Linda James, a family friend.
Having Stefan’s Farfar (Norwegian for grandad) read a poem at our ceremony. Farfar was the only grandparent able to make our special day so meant a lot to us that he could read a poem for us. Also our friends Bec & Ryan who we met on Contiki in Europe who came all the way from New Zealand
Did everything go to plan?
The whole day was perfect from start to finish, the whole day ran very smoothly & I wouldn’t change a thing, we were very lucky.
Hard to pick as the whole day was amazing, but probably seeing Stefan for the first time & him seeing me
Favourite photo and why?
The photo of Stefan & I standing on the rock next to an old stone building, it’s an amazing photo & it was also the first time Stefan & I had 5 minutes to ourselves
Tell us about your reception?
We had a sit down meal at our reception, we started off with speeches first up, so we could do all the formalities at the start then everyone could enjoy there meal & Stefan & I could also spend more time catching up with everyone. We had band Southern Exposure play as soon as dinner was over, so everyone was up dancing & having fun for the majority of the night which is what we wanted.
